To take the stress out of your holiday, we’ve put together a series of hints and tips to help you collect your vehicle, drive your hire car and return your vehicle with no hassle or fuss!
These tips have been compiled with the help of our reservations team, who deal with customer queries every day. If you have received an unexpected car hire charge, this may help you work out what the charge is for.
- Fuel – When you collect and return your vehicle, photograph the fuel gauge and ensure that the fuel level matches the level stated on the paperwork.
- Marks or damage – Before you drive away, take some time to have a look around the vehicle and note down any damage with the representative. You could also take photographs of the vehicle and of any damage when both collecting and returning the vehicle.
- Insurance – Beware of extra top-up insurance products offered to you when you collect your vehicle. You may have already purchased a top-up insurance product when you booked your car hire so you may not need it. You may also be offered Personal Accident Insurance but this is usually included on your travel insurance policy so check this before your departure.
