Explore Grenoble and its Surroundings
Being in such close proximity to the French Alps, skiing is the order of the day here. Resorts such as Alpe d'Huez and Les Deux Alpes are good to start with and offer a challenge to skiers of all abilities.
Head into Grenoble itself and take a ride on the cable car. Open nearly every day, it’s easily spotted from the town centre and a ride will provide a fantastic bird’s eye views over the town. Back on solid ground, explore some of what the town has to offer; visit the numerous museums and the Cathedral.
Travel further afield and visit Lyon. With a journey time of just over one hour, it would be crazy not to see this well-known French city. See the stunning Fourvière Basilica lit up at night and the wonderful St Jean Cathedral.
In just over an hour you can be in Valence. St-Apollinaire's Cathedral looms over this town. Boulevards surround a maze of picturesque streets. It is built over a series of terraces, which slope down towards the Rhone River, the generator of its progress and prosperity.

Geneva can be reached in under 2 hours. Stroll around Lake Geneva and take in the beautiful countryside. One of the city's most famous landmarks is the Jet d'Eau. It is also one of the largest fountains in the world. It is visible throughout the city and from the air.
Hire a car at Grenoble and Turin is also a 2 hour drive away.
