A fresh, honest approach to car rental

Landscapes to take your breath away.

Enjoy the breath-taking landscapes and mountainous scenery with a hire car. Accessible from a number of airports and even by ferry should you prefer this method, this wondrous island located just above Sardinia and within hitting distance of Italy is fantastic to drive around.

Due to the narrow nature of the roads in Corsica, it is strongly advisable to take your time. Despite this, the experience is no less pleasurable. Whether you intend to trawl the coast for the best sunshine spots, or drive through the rugged panoramas, you are sure to find plenty to keep you amused. A plethora of ancient monuments and buildings are littered throughout the island, and of course hiring a car is the perfect way to make the best of your break here.

Seat belts

Seatbelts must be worn in both the front and rear of the vehicle.

Driving with children

Children aged under 10 must not travel in the front seat of the vehicle and must travel in a suitable child seat or restraint.

Blood alcohol limit

The blood alcohol limit is 50mg alcohol per 100ml blood. For those who have had a licence for less than 3 years, this falls to 20mg per 100ml of blood.

The use of a mobile phone whilst driving is not permitted.

Reflective vests, triangles & other essentials

It is compulsory for drivers to carry a breathalyser certified by the French authorities. On the spot fines of €11 will be issued should you fail to produce this. It is advisable to carry two, in case one fails to work.

A warning triangle and reflective jacket must be stored inside of the vehicle.

Parking

Always adhere to parking regulations and restrictions. If you do not, your vehicle is likely to be towed away.

On the spot fines

Rules are strict therefore fines up to €750 can be imposed. Ensure that you get an official receipt should you receive a fine.

Horns and headlights

You must not use your car horn in built-up areas. During the day, dipped headlights must be used if visibility is poor.

If you are in a slow moving queue of traffic, the last car must use its hazard lights to warn other drivers.

Trams

It is prohibited to overtake a tram where passengers are alighting or boarding.

Roundabouts

Roundabouts that bear the sign "Vous n'avez pas la priorité" or "Cédez le passage” indicate that traffic on the roundabout has priority.

GPS Sat Nav

Any equipment that has a screen must be positioned so that the driver of the vehicle cannot see it. They must not be used or programmed unless parked.

If you are using a GPS based navigation system (Sat Nav) and it indicates the location of fixed speed cameras, this functionality must be turned off.

What should I do if I have an accident?

If you’re in an accident, you MUST notify the Police and the supplier and get an accident report for insurance purposes. Failure to do so may result in you footing the whole bill. It is also recommended to contact us at the same time to ensure you follow the correct procedure.

What should I do if I breakdown?

If you breakdown in Corsica, you must put on a reflective jacket and place the reflective triangles behind and in front of the vehicle to warn other drivers. Call the car rental provider who will be able to advise you further.
