Finding a restaurant to cater for your vegan needs while on holiday can be tricky. If you have no prior knowledge of the area, it’s even more challenging. We’ve compiled a list of the best international vegan restaurants that will even have your meat-eating companions going back for more!

Kontor Eismanufaktur – Berlin

This is not strictly a restaurant as their whole menu is ice cream-based! It is however still a fantastic place to visit. Opened in April 2015, this was the first of its kind in Berlin. Their selection of vegan ice creams includes traditional favourites such as chocolate and vanilla. There’s also new favourites such as lime-basil and peanut crunch. The Wala Room– Spain

This health food restaurant specialises in vegan and raw food. It’s 5 minutes from the beach and crowds in Torremolinos. It’s worth wandering the backstreets to discover this hidden gem. The menu is 100% organic and cooked from scratch. If you’re unsure of any of the dishes, the helpful staff will happily explain them to you. There is also a selection of cooked dishes too.

The Veggie Grill– California

Originating in Southern California, The Veggie Grill is a vegan café chain. This family friendly café even has a children’s menu. Take your pick from a variety of dishes made from organic ingredients. Many popular dishes include vegan-friendly substitutions. There are also seasonal dishes added to the menu in line with locally available fresh food.

MeeT– Vancouver, Canada

There are two MeeT restaurants in Vancouver and both get very busy. The dishes are fully vegan and some are gluten-free. Even the selection of alcohol and craft cocktails on offer are locally sourced and vegan. Featured on the Food Network’s ‘You Gotta Eat Here!’, visitors are drawn from miles to sample the award-winning veggie burgers.

Pure on Raw– Sheffield, UK

This café offers a takeaway and delivery service of its raw and vegan dishes. There are juice cleanse programs available to order and even a Raw Gourmet Meal Box. Select a minimum of 9 items from the weekly menu on their website and they’ll deliver your raw vegan meals ready for the week ahead. All ingredients are locally sourced and organic where possible. They even go so far as to show how the water they prepare the food with is filtered, showing a diagram on their website.

The V Factor– Lanzarote

This was the first 100% vegan restaurant on the island. This vegan fast food outlet offers all kinds of burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and more. There are also various coffees to try. It has an incredible atmosphere with friendly staff. The tables and chairs are made from recycled tyres and pallets so are very eco-friendly. Try the 3 course daily special. They can run out so get there as early as possible.

Junk Food Café– Brno, Czech Republic

Choose from a selection of vegan burgers, pizzas and other traditional delights. The bottom-less coffee comes with a soy milk option. Select a dish from their daily specials menu. Hosting live music and quizzes, you should pop along and experience full entertainment.

The Loving Hut– Menton, France

Situated with an overview of the Mediterranean sea, this outlet is very popular with both vegans and meat-eaters alike. It’s part of the fastest growing international chain of vegan restaurants. Taste a menu that combines traditional French dishes with Asian fusion. Experience organic ingredients, non-GMO products and vegan desserts like nowhere else.
