If you’re a history lover, head to Fort Scott National Historic Site, it was a base for the armed forces during the 19th Century which has since been restored.
For a sense of adventure to get up close to the animals at the Safari Zoological Park; a privately run zoo which offers a tour around the grounds see the impressive array of animals such as lions, grizzly bears, wolves and exotic birds to name a few.
