Who we work with

Thessaloniki airport is just a 25 minute drive outside the city. Flying in to Thessaloniki is a hassle free choice to start your holiday because of the short transfer time in-between the airport and potential accommodation. With the freedom to go wherever you want in your rental car there are so many places to visit around Thessaloniki and into Halkidiki.

Things to See and Do in Thessaloniki

There are some excellent examples of early Christian and Byzantine architecture including some amazing churches such as the Hagia Sophia of Thessaloniki and the Church of Panagia Chalkeon. Alongside the churches, Thessaloniki has numerous fascinating museums that can give a real insight into the history of the area, including the Archeological Museum and the Museum of Byzantine Culture.

If architecture isn’t your thing, don’t worry because Thessaloniki is known for its variety of places to eat and drink. In fact, it has more cafés and bars per capita than any other city in Europe, so you will be spoilt for choice.

Around Thessaloniki - Take a Day Trip

Within driving distance of Thessaloniki Airport is the Halkidiki peninsula. Also known as the Mount Athos region it is known for its beautiful beaches, relaxed atmosphere and traditional food. Dionysiou Monastery is one of the highlights of the region and sits impressively on the cliff tops overlooking the sea. If you are looking for golden beaches then Toroni is worth a visit as it has some of the most beautiful beaches in the region.

Heading in the other direction from Thessaloniki Airport is the famous Mount Olympus. At 2,917m high, on a clear day it can be seen 100km away in Thessaloniki! The home of the Gods, it has a mythical atmosphere that even the most sceptical visitor will be consumed by. If myths aren’t your thing though, Mount Olympus has some of the most spectacular views in Greece.

There are a variety of other great places to visit in the area such as Litohoro, Veria, Kozani and the hilltop town of Edhessa. You will need to plan your trip carefully to get the most from your time here as there is so much on offer.
