Take the 15 minute journey to Pula and start your holiday at the southern tip of the Istria peninsula in Croatia. Travel around with a hire car and explore all that the region has to offer, before venturing off further afield to explore the likes of Dubrovnik and Split.
What is There to See and Do in Pula?
Take a trip back in time and visit the Pula Arena, a Roman amphitheatre which is actually one the largest remaining in the world. Afterwards, stop by the Forum, a square found at the heart of Pula which is close to more ancient ruins. There is also a 14th century monastery, numerous churches, and an archaeological museum to visit.
Hop on a boat and travel to Brijuni, a group of islands well-known for their amazing views and just a stone's throw from the city. There is a National Park to enjoy here as well as a golf course so soak in the natural beauty before playing a few rounds!
Sample some of the local Croatian cuisine; the region of Istria is famous for its truffles so be sure to try one or at least a traditional dish which includes them!
Day Trips From Pula
Pick up a rental car and drive a little further along the coast until you reach Rovinj. Relax on one of the gorgeous beaches or plan your trip to coincide with one of the many concerts held throughout the summer.
Travel in the opposite direction towards Rijeka and explore! This lively city delivers breathtaking views of Kvarner Bay, particularly from Trsat Castle set on a hill top. There are also a number of museums and the promenade area to visit during your day trip.
Discover the old town in Porec, laze on the beach and revel in the area’s natural beauty. Baredine Cave is a nice, natural attraction to add to your itinerary!
