The main focal points of Casa’s new town are Place Mohammed V and the Place de Nations Uniones and it is here that you’ll find some of the city’s best architecture. French colonial influences meet traditional Moorish designs with some art deco thrown in for good measure.
Look out for the attractive monumental fountain and spend some time relaxing here as you enjoy the performances of singers and musicians. The famous clock tower is another sight not to be missed, so make sure you pack your camera.
The old medina is a great place to pick up a souvenir or two. Navigate your way through the labyrinth of narrow streets lined with jewellers and artisans.
Day Trips from Casablanca
No trip to Morocco would be complete without a visit to Marrakech. Explore the Saadian Tombs and see the beautiful Moroccan tiles known as Zelij and spend some time at the El Bahia Palace.
Just over an hour away, you will find Rabat. This city has a long and rich history and plenty of historic monuments and hidden corners to discover. The quiet Medina has an authentic feel to it and some fascinating architecture while the picturesque Kasbah is home to some great art galleries and offers magnificent ocean views.
Head to Chellah, an abandoned city, which is now home to thousands of birds, a wondrous sight.
Spend some time in Fes and discover the Bou Inania Madersa, a fantastic example of Islamic architecture. Enjoy the breathtaking views over the city which can be found at the Merenid Tombs.
