Insularcar is probably the best hire company with the best maintained vehicles that I have ever used. As usual five star service from Zest and previously ECH.

We were very pleased with our experience of Insularcar. The fear with car rental is being "taken for a ride" with damage that is not the responsibility of the person hiring the car, However, with Insularcar we felt that there was a healthy trust between the staff at Insularcar and ourselves renting the car. On collection, the member of staff without being asked noted some very minor marks where careless door opening occurs. We kept our part of the agreement and so did they. We brought back the car neat and tidy and they accepted that we had filled the fuel tank to the required level. They gave some reassuring advice about driving in Madeira. We would highly recommend them.

Antonio at Insularcar was welcoming and courteous and thorough in dealing with us, especially with the car handover; he ensured that we understood all aspects of the car’s functionality and checked our understanding. The best car handover we have experienced!
The car, a Peugeot 208, was a delight to drive!

The Insularcar staff were prompt, efficient and very friendly. They made us feel most welcome on the island and took the time and trouble to write down places to visit and places to eat authentic island food where locals ate. They were very relaxed about the cars minor dinks and told not to worry about the car getting dirty or people opening their doors against ours in carparks etc which really put our minds at rest. I would highly recommend Insularcar and will definitely use them again
