I used Zest for the first time, drawn by the excellent reviews. Car hire abroad can often be stressful, with hard sell by hire staff on vehicle collection. It seems Zest have a close relationship with their hire partners, using only those that offer a fairer service to their customers. The whole process was exceptionally smooth, the car was hired in Madeira through a newish company, InsularCar, who operate from a small office in the city. InsularCar are also very highly reviewed. The company staff we encountered were excellent, friendly and efficient. No pressure whatsoever. Brand new car. Very happy with everything and have already booked through Zest for another trip later in the year.

I used Madeira Rent Ajuda branch which is on the road at the rear of Madeira Forum - easy to find and very convenient for those staying at that end of Funchal. Staff were polite, helpful and quick for both collection and return. The branch has it's own underground garage beneath the shop, so no parking problems when returning. Good service.
