Sightseeing in Dalaman
With so much to choose from in Dalaman it will be tough to know what to do first during your trip. Do visit the mud baths in neighbouring Dalyan, there are several to choose from including Koycegiz Lake. Whichever site you choose however, it is sure to be a therapeutic trip so slather yourself in mud and relax in the warm sulphur pools!
Turkey is well-known for its rich history and plethora of ancient sites so no trip to Dalaman would be complete without a visit to one or two of these well-preserved time capsules. Hippokome, an ancient city meaning City of Horses, is located just 30km from Dalaman and makes a great starting point!
Day Trips From Dalaman
Collect your rental car and visit Sarsala Cove, where pine trees meet the sea. You will find the journey to be a pleasant and scenic 12km drive, past sulphuric lakes that are linked to the ocean. Once you arrive, enjoy a truly relaxing day swimming and sunbathing in gorgeous surroundings.
Journey 20 minutes inland to the lakeside town of Koycegiz; enjoy a stroll along the shore and a beverage in one of the multiple tea rooms. There also are mud baths located here so you might like to pay them a visit or if you prefer to stay dry, browse the local market.
Drive for another hour along the Aegean Coast to Fethiye. Located on the ancient site of Telmessos, the ruins can be viewed when visiting the quay. Alternatively, treat yourself to some retail therapy and a visit to the popular resort of Ölüdeniz which is surrounded by turquoise water on three sides.
Gocek, only 30 minutes from Dalaman Airport, nestled between the mountains, is well-known as a yachting harbour and is definitely worth stopping by. Afterwards, continue your exploration of the southern coast of Turkey. Marmaris is a highlight where you can visit the Amphitheatre in the centre and wander down to the Marina.Book now
