Now a bustling, modern city with wonderful beach resorts in easy reach, Izmir was once known as the ancient city of Smyrna with a history which dates back more than 5,000 years. With a number of neighbouring towns and cities easy to explore with a rental car and plenty to keep you enthralled within the city limits itself, Izmir is a top choice for your upcoming trip.
