Explore Praia da Luz
Enjoy the charming village of Praia da Luz; take a stroll along the promenade which bustles with a variety of shops, restaurants and market stalls. The beach here is perfect for some family fun and there are plenty of opportunities to try your hand at water sports whilst you are here.
There are also some ruins of a Roman bath to explore which date from around the 3rd Century AD. You will find these just on the other side of the promenade. Locate the door in the wall that runs along here and step back in time.
Things to Do in the Area
Spend a day at Lagos Zoo. You can enjoy the monkey islands and young children will have great fun meeting the animals in the Pets corner.
Head off to Palmeres and play a few rounds of golf. There are many alternative courses in the area. You could also enjoy some time on the sandy shores of the Algarve. There are secluded coves and more popular stretches of beach to choose from.
Burgau is only a short car journey away and a visit here will provide a great day out. Amble down the hillside to the beautiful beach. Spend some time exploring the village and grab a bite to eat at one of the many Portuguese restaurants here.
A trip to Sagres is also worthwhile. Explore the fortress, and relax at the pretty Baleeira harbour. This is also the location in which Prince Henry the Navigator built his school of navigation, so there are many historical sights to discover on your travels.
