Lying on the east coast of Mallorca, Cala D’or is an attractive development and considered to be one of the most pleasant resorts in the area.
Explore Cala D’or Itself
Mallorca’s east coast certainly gets the best of the weather. Head down to one of the excellent local beaches such as Cala Gran, Cala Egos, or Cala Esmeralda.
If you fancy heading out on the water, there are a number of companies offering boat trips or charters so you can explore the coast properly.
Golfers should travel to Vall d’Or Golf Course and indulge in a round or two. Set in marvellous surroundings, this tranquil but challenging course is certainly worthy of a visit. There are also four more courses nearby once you have exhausted this one.
Travel Around the Area
Not for the faint-hearted, you may find the drive up to the Sanctuary of Sant Salvador a little scary, but it is worth it. It boasts breathtaking views over the area.
If you’re up for a day trip, head over to Mondrago Natural Park and get back to nature in an area protected against development. It certainly provides a welcome break from the coastal resorts.
If you are looking for something a little different, the Caves of Drac and Hams near Porto Cristo are worth a visit.
To enjoy more of the quieter side of Mallorca, journey along the coast to Cala Figuera. As with many of Mallorca’s resorts, it started out as a fishing village. If you want a taste of traditional Mallorcan life, a trip here provides a fantastic insight.
