Head off to the Cactus Garden for a slightly different but prickly day trip. This incredible botanic garden houses around 10,000 types of cactus. You can also visit the villages of Guatiza and Mala nearby.

Visit the Fundacion Cesar Manrique. This modern art gallery is located in the former home of the Lanzarote born artist César Manrique and is well worth a visit. Lanzarote Aquarium can also be found in Costa Teguise so make sure you stop in and meet some of the residents.
Explore Lanzarote
A visit to Lanzarote wouldn’t be complete without spending some time at Timanfaya National Park. Gaze in awe at the incredible volcanic terrain and eat at the El Diablo restaurant which uses the heat from the volcano to cook your meal.
Drive to Arrecife, where you can see a variety of gorgeous sights. Start off with El Charco de San Gines which is a saltwater lagoon. Amble around the Castle of San Jose then locate the Church of San Gines whilst you are here.
There is also another volcano at the northern tip of the island named La Corona. If you enjoy the great outdoors then this area offers fantastic hiking routes.
Journey to the southernmost tip of the island to visit Playa Blanca. Wander along the modern Marina Rubicon and marvel at its gorgeous harbour filled with fishing boats. Take a stroll around the castle here as well.
