Wander over to the nearby resort of Playa de las Americas. It’s a very lively resort and is certainly perfect if you wish to dance the night away. There are however other attractions here. There is also an 18-hole golf course along with the opportunity to try a variety of water sports.

Plan a trip to the Tenerife Zoo Monkey Park in Santa Cruz. Take your own fruit and feed the monkeys. When you’ve finished, head into town and visit the bustling Plaza de España, wander past the Parliament Buildings then explore the Pyramids of Güímar.

Drive to some of the natural wonders on the island. Start off by travelling to Montaña Roja which is also home to some wetlands. Travel a little further up the coast and you will also stumble upon Montaña Pelada, Montaña de Ifara y Los Riscos then lastly Los Derriscaderos which is packed full of pumice ravines.

Travel to Puerto de la Cruz to locate Loro Parque. There are a huge variety of animals housed here, along with a beautiful orchid garden. Perfect for kids, both big and small, take some time to watch the dolphin and sea lion shows too.

Teide National Park is only a stone’s throw away. Make sure you take the cable car to the top of Mount Teide for fantastic views.
