Things to See and Do in Mulhouse
Traverse around the Old Town area. Stop by and marvel at the beautiful buildings such as the Town Hall and the Temple of Saint-Etienne. Renowned for its museums, the wide selection available will be sure to keep you occupied.
Mulhouse is also home to a zoo along with some wonderful botanical gardens and you should allocate at least an afternoon to exploring its many parks.
Day Trips From Mulhouse
Take a trip to the nearby Vosges Mountains. Explore the bounds of the Massif du Grand Ventron Nature Reserve. Park up and explore the beautiful landscapes on foot.
Although a 2.5 hour drive away, the city of Dijon is well worth visiting. Take a scenic route there as you travel at your own pace. When you arrive, take a peaceful walk along the beautiful canal.
Head to Colmar and discover the best bits of the Old Town. Amble along the narrow streets and soak up the well preserved buildings and surroundings. Locate the small canals that will no doubt remind you of Venice, then find the pink sandstone Church of St Martin.
Hop over the Swiss border and explore the city of Basel. The historic Old Town should be your first port of call. Start off at Münsterplatz to see the city’s cathedral.
Alternatively, head to Freiburg in Germany. A short distance from Mulhouse, it’s located in the heart of the Black Forest and there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors. Head to Triberg to see the largest waterfall in Germany or wander around the Old Town.
