Tour the French Riviera.

One of the most famous cities in France, Nice is home to a magnificent array of historical and modern attractions suitable for all. Whether it is a day out exploring the old town, relaxing on one of the stunning private beaches or hitting the bars and restaurants, you will find it hard to cram everything in.

Nice is the second largest city situated on the Mediterranean shore after the city of Marseille. Serviced by both Nice Airport and Nice Rail Station, begin your French adventure as soon as you arrive and explore the Riviera.

Things to See and Do in Nice

Constructed back in the 18th Century, the Promenade des Anglais is as popular today with tourists and locals as it was back then. Along the spectacular beach side walkway, you will be able to grab an ice cream or just relax on a beach lounger to take in the views. At night time the performers come out, and it also plays host to the annual carnival and other festivals.

For those who love to wander the markets, a recommended attraction is the Cours Saleya Flower Market. Open Tuesday to Sunday, its place is taken by a flea market on Mondays. There are amazing souvenir shops and local cafés close by and you can easily lose a whole day trying to find a unique gift to bring back home.

If you just want to watch the boats and ferries go past on a lazy afternoon or check out the modern nightclubs, Nice Port is the place to go. If you're more of a culture vulture, Nice is home to some of the most famous museums and art galleries in the world. From the Château de la Napoule to the MAMAC (Le Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain) or Nice Cathedral you are going to find something that interests everyone.

Day Trips From Nice

A 30 minute drive from Monaco, a visit to Monte Carlo should certainly feature in your itinerary. Take to the streets in your hire car across the streets that make up the famous Formula One circuit. Try your luck in the casino or explore one of the many gardens here; there are even some at the casino itself.

Travel in the opposite direction along the coast to reach Cannes. Famed for the annual film festival, the glitz and glamour here knows no bounds. This is also a great spot to enjoy the French Riviera, so wander along La Croisette and find a suitable beach to enjoy.

The well-known town of Saint Tropez is also close by. Simply embark on a pleasant coastal drive, before soaking up the sunshine. There are plentiful water sports to partake in too, so whether celebrity spotting or sunbathing, a visit here is worthwhile.
