Corfu Airport Car Hire.

Capture Corfu.

Embedded with deep history from the beginning of Greek mythology along with majestic hotels, Corfu has the foundations in place to offer you a thoroughly varied trip.

Corfu International Airport or Ioannis Kapodistrias airport, named after Ioannis Kapodistrias the first Governor of Greece, is located around 3 kilometres south of Corfu Town, also known as Kerkyra and half a kilometre north of Pontikonisi.

With medieval castles puncturing the mountains and white sandy beaches to relax on, it’s no surprise that the number of tourists visiting Corfu is growing each year. Be one of the many tourists that get the best from their visit, and pick up a hire car when you arrive at Corfu Airport.

Things to See and Do in Corfu Town

Start off in the beautiful leafy Corfu Town, which boasts some wonderful churches, fortresses and even a palace. History buffs will love the Archaeological Museum, offering insight into Corfu's past, as well as the neoclassical Museum of Asian Art, which houses some breathtaking pieces originating from China and Japan. The Municipal Gallery of Corfu showcases famous works such as the Sphinx.

Once you have explored Corfu Town, take a boat trip from Corfu Port to the island of Vidos. The port is located very close to the historic Corfu centre. Vidos is a beautiful nature reserve just opposite the main town of Corfu. A boat leaves every hour from the Old Port of Corfu and it takes only 15 minutes to cross over to the island and there are return trips every hour too.

If you are arriving into Corfu Port from a cruise, hire a vehicle from Corfu Town or Corfu Port to help you explore the whole town and its surrounding areas.

What Else Does Corfu Have to Offer?

Why not rent a car and visit Achillion Palace? The palace is definitely a place to take your camera! This beautiful building set in picturesque gardens overlooking both the sea and the town is one of the islands top attractions.

Another top location is Mount Pantokrator which dominates the Northern part of the Island and is almost 1km high. During the winter months, it is occasionally snow-capped, making it even more stunning. There are several villages to stop and see on the way such as Strinilas, which is well worth a visit.

If that’s not your thing, go and see Corfu’s most treasured beauty spot, Paleokastritsa. This is a rather large resort, so there is plenty to keep everyone occupied and it is only a short drive away from Corfu Airport. It offers sandy beaches and you’re able to park just a few steps from the beach, making it very convenient too.
