Land at Kos Airport and Kardamena is just a stone’s throw away.
Relax in Kardamena
Kardamena has always been known as a lively holiday resort nestled below the mountains. There are however a variety of pieces of architecture that remind you of the island's history. Head out of the hustle and bustle and search for these on the outskirts of the town.
Enjoy some time on the sandy beach here. There is a rather long stretch of shoreline for you to amble along, so you can find your own tranquil spot.
Drive Around the Sights of Kos
Make sure you visit Nerantzia Castle, or the Castle of the Knights, located at the entrance to Kos Town. It dates back to the 14th Century and houses a museum where you can learn more of its history.
If you’ve explored the beach why not take a visit to the Lido Water Park for a fun day out for all ages? It also happens to be one of the largest waterparks in Greece.
Asklepieion, an ancient medical centre and one of the most fascinating and important archaeological sites on the island, is worthy of a visit and a great place to learn about Greek history.
Take a trip to Tigaki and explore this wondrous town. There is a lovely beach here, which is perfect for lazing on, or even trying some water sports if you're game. With plenty of tavernas to tempt you, it is easy to sample some local food whilst you are here. Stop by the nearby salt lake too, if you have time.
Drive to Kefalos which is right at the tip of the island of Kos. This is a tranquil village, which is great if you are keen to escape the hubbub of Kardamena for a while. Relax in the main square and enjoy a bit of people watching. There are also numerous beaches here, both shingle and sandy for you to enjoy.
