Discover the Wonders of Lindos
Head to the Lindos Acropolis. You will have to scale approximately 300 steps so take some water with you for the walk. Upon arrival at the top, you will be rewarded with wondrous views over the bay.
Filled with ancient buildings to survey, including the Castle of the Knights of St John, you will certainly find plenty to keep you occupied. There’s a rich variation of architecture located here; view some of the painted ceilings and traditional white and black floors.
Journey to Lindos Beach and laze on the beautiful white sand. Grab a traditional bite to eat at one of the tavernas along the shore and watch the waves lapping the coast line.
Journey Around the Local Area
Only a stone’s throw away, you will find the town of Lardos. Take your hiking boots and enjoy the wondrous countryside or take your snorkelling equipment and investigate the underwater world.
Head to the 4km long beach at Kalathos. If you travel further towards the northern end, you will find peace and quiet, should you be seeking it.
If you would like to unearth more of the island’s history, then take a trip to Rhodes Town. The Old Town will no doubt be your first port of call. Amble around the city walls and try to spot as many historical gems as you can along the way. Locate Acropolis of Rhodes too and your day will be complete.
Rhodes can be a windy island, which is perfect should you want to try windsurfing or kitesurfing. There is a centre dedicated to this, named Prasonisi at the tip of the island. You will only be able to visit this area during the summer months, as during winter the water levels are much higher and Prasonisi becomes an island.
