Admire the stunning architecture of the Renaissance cathedral and step back in time on a stroll through the city’s 19th Century Boulevards.

The famous Alhambra Palace is also just a stone’s throw from the historic Granada. Make the short 25 minute drive to uncover one of Europe’s great architectural sights. Part fortress, part palace, part water garden, the Alhambra is a treasure trove of Moorish art and architecture and encapsulates the true essence of Andalusian history.

Where Can I go in my Hire Car?

The bustling city of Malaga is a short drive away. Explore the birthplace of Picasso by visiting the many museums here. Or, for a relaxing day in the gorgeous Spanish sunshine head to Nerja. This East-Malaga beach is a coastal paradise and just an hour’s drive from Granada.

The Sierra Nevada Mountains are popular for skiing enthusiasts and the National Park is best discovered by car. As the largest National Park in Spain, the Sierra Nevada Nature Park has plenty to offer. Take a scenic drive through this alpine paradise for a complete experience of the mountains’ beautiful scenery. Be sure to stop at one of the charming mountain villages such as Laujar de Andarax where you can taste some of Spain’s finest wines and discover the art of pottery in a traditional craft workshop.

Almeria is also close by, traverse around the Cathedral, sample some local cuisine and enjoy the stunning surroundings. Sitting high above the city the Alcazaba castle is an imposing monument and a ‘must see’ when you visit Almeria. Inside the ancient fortress you will find beautiful gardens, watchtowers that offer fantastic views of the city below and out to sea, and a selection of exhibitions.
