Discover Torrevieja
If you want pristine beaches where you can soak up the sunshine, then Torrevieja has plenty to offer. A visit to Playa del Cura or Playa del Acequion should get you started. If you want to drive a little further away, La Mata has a rather special beach too.
La Mata is also home to some wondrous Roman Docks where you should take a stroll. If you happen to visit on market day, you may also be in for some bargain hunting too.
You must visit the salt plains in Torrevieja. Unusually, they are pink in colour and packed full of bird life. Some people bathe in the lakes but if you don’t fancy that then there is a museum dedicated to the area instead.
Explore the Area
Head to Terra Mitica, an awesome theme park easily reached by car. This takes visitors through a journey of discovery relating to the five legendary civilisations of the Mediterranean.
Hop in your rental car and head to the Orihuela Costa, only a short drive away. Las Ramblas Golf Course is fantastic if you want to play a round or two. Full of historical buildings such as Santa Iglesia Catedral del Salvador, you will find plenty to explore.
A trip to Murcia whilst you are holidaying here should also be in order. Whether you want to splash around at Terra Natura Water Park or simply gaze at the cathedral, there is a vast array of activities to keep you occupied here.
With Mar Menor and La Manga only a brief car journey away, you must spend a day ambling around this area of the Costa Blanca. Stroll along the miles of beaches and saunter along the variety of promenades. There is also a golf course here if you fancy a round.
