Discover the area of La Carihuela which is considered to be less commercial. The seafood restaurants here are difficult to surpass. Be sure to try La Carihuela’s signature dish, pescaito! Served with fresh salad and a squeeze of lemon these small fried fish are guaranteed to tantalise your tastebuds. Wander past the original fishermen’s cottages and the beautiful sea front promenade.

Just a 15 minute drive from Torremolinos is Benalmadena, another great spot to explore! Wander through the old quarter for a taste of the area’s local history. Here you will find the pretty whitewashed buildings and narrow cobbled streets typical of any Mediterranean village and plenty of pavement cafes perfect for relaxing with a coffee.

In the ‘Museo Benalmadena’ you will find interesting local archaeological finds alongside a fantastic collection of Mexican and Central and South American artefacts. The museum is a must-see for history buffs!
