Places to Visit Outside of Leeds 

The Spa town of Harrogate is only a short 30 minute drive away from Leeds, so perfect for a day trip. Visit the Royal Pump Room Museum which is located on the strongest sulphur well in Europe. Take a peek into the history surrounding Harrogate here. See a show at Harrogate Theatre and enjoy exploring the streets.

If you are looking to immerse yourself in the British countrywide, then head to Kinder Scout National Nature Reserve in your hire car. Marvel at 700 hectares of varying habitats such as blanket bogs and gaze in awe if you spot a bird of prey.

Drive in the opposite direction towards the Yorkshire Dales and stop off in Grassington. Not only can you enjoy the annual Grassington Festival if you visit at the right time, but you can amble along the narrow streets and wander into the shops along the way. Linton Falls is also nearby, so make a beeline for this place to round off your day.

Visiting the walled city of historic York is a must during your stay in this area. Admire York Minster and Clifford’s Tower for starters, and then discover more about York at the Yorkshire, Castle and Railway Museums. Indulge in some retail therapy along the cobbled streets then grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants in central York.
