What’s Happening in Hull?
Like most historic British towns Hull is home to some fantastic architecture, cobbled streets, quaint pubs, a range of museums and the ever popular shops, bars and restaurants. As one of Yorkshire’s seaside towns along with a great collection of attractions to boot, Hull is something of a hidden gem.
Visit ‘The Deep’- one of the most impressive aquariums in the world! Here you will find hundreds of exotic fish species including sharks and rays, as well as a new penguin exhibit. Marvel at marine life and uncover the magnificent history of the world’s oceans. With events such as dive presentations and shark feedings, a glass viewing lift and Europe’s deepest viewing tunnel, a day at ‘The Deep’ certainly won’t disappoint!
Alternatively, take a stroll through the cobbled streets of Hull’s Old Town. Here you will find plenty of reminders of the city's rich and interesting past such as the Street Life Transport Museum and the Hands on History Museum, Hepworth Arcade, and the supposedly haunted pub, the George Hotel.
Explore East Yorkshire
Drive 40 minutes north of Hull and you will come across the Yorkshire Wolds, one of the UKs walking hotspots. With footpaths and trails of every length across undulating hills, through thick forest and green valleys, it comes as no surprise that the walks here are award-winning. Don’t forget to stop at one of the quintessentially Yorkshire market towns for cream tea or visit one of the grand stately homes as well.
Visit the gorgeous market town of Beverley where you can while away an afternoon browsing the shops. Admire the stunning Minster and enjoy tea and cake or the classic Yorkshire high tea at one of the many pavement cafes and coffee shops. Just a scenic 25 minute drive from Hull, Beverley is a great place to see a little bit more of this charming part of England.
