Ease of booking through Zest and very competitive price. Our evening flight was delayed and trying to find the temporary car rentals site due to airport renovations (Pisa) on arrivals made us later than expected but the lady at Italy car rental stayed open until we arrived. All in an all a good experience.

Whilst I had read mixed reviews online before booking, my experience of Zest and Italy Car Rent was excellent. I encountered no problems at all, the car was great and everybody I spoke to at Zest and Italy Car Rent were helpful and the process was straightforward.

We have used Zest three years running, and Keddy/Eurocar twice now, at Pisa and Rome airports. Easy to locate once you know Keddy don’t have their own desks or signs. Accidental damage two years ago very straightforwardly taken care of with Zest’s top-up insurance. Changed to Keddy after this from a different rental agency as we hadn’t been aware of any damage when we dropped off the car (due to flight times before the office opened) but couldn’t prove it. Also the previous agency gave us a car that perhaps technically was in the same class as the one we had booked but had a significantly smaller boot than we expected/needed. Being able to contact Zest directly with any queries is a godsend.

We always use Zest, and often choose Easy Car Hire (ECH) because of price point, they were overall pretty good, in truth - we’ve used almost every car hire company at Pisa, and they are all about the same when it comes to cars and service, ECH are usually fairly well staffed though so there’s not often too much waiting around.

After booking our car rental, I was quite nervous because there are several negative reviews of Italy Car Rent. However, our experience was only positive. The staff at Pisa airport were efficient and friendly. The car was clean and an appropriate model for what we had requested.
The car did have multiple very small defects to the paintwork. The general area of the marks had been captured on the vehicle inspection report but it would have been impossible to record every single mark. We did take a video before leaving the rental area.
To my knowledge we didn't add any further marks to the car, we had to leave the key in the self-drop off box due to an early flight but within 2 hours we received an email to say the vehicle had been inspected and there was nothing to pay. The deposit refund was processed later that day.
Given the price for rental via Zest/Italy Car Rent was around £300 cheaper than Avis/Hertz/Sixt etc...I would definitely use them again.
