Sightseeing in Savannah
Journey to Savannah and view the lighthouse at Tybee Island. Head to the Historic District and amble around some of the 22 squares littered throughout this area. Fort Jackson, which is slightly outside of the city, is also well-worth the trip.
Travel to Hilton Head Island which is in South Carolina. Relax on the beach, indulge in a round of golf or two or if you are feeling energetic, why not try biking or tennis?
Spend some time at the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge. Home to a plethora of bird life, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors including countless trails to stroll along.
Head down to the riverfront and take a river boat cruise on a paddle steamer and enjoy an evening of entertainment and a good dining experience.
Enjoy some Southern cooking at one of the many restaurants that can be found across Savannah with seafood and barbeque cooking proving popular. Then maybe head over to one of the many bars and clubs on offer.
Exploring Georgia
Head south in your hire car and just across the state border you’ll find the city of Jacksonville. It offers a variety of attractions ranging from museums such as Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, to an array of shopping centres and range of restaurants and eateries all offering a wide range of cuisines.
Travelling inland to the west is the city of Atlanta, the state capital and largest city in Georgia. With major attractions such as Six Flags Over Georgia, a large theme park offering a variety of rides, to the Georgia Aquarium, which all help make Atlanta a popular tourist destination.
