I messed up by bringing an old licence. It was late at night and the person on the desk went above and beyond to ensure we got a vehicle. Something similar has happened to me previously while renting in Italy (a credit card issue) and it cost me a lot of extra money to get a car. This time the additional cost was negligible. They were extremely helpful and I'm very grateful.
